Our audience give their reviews of our production, Lucky Seven.
Inspired by the Seven Up series, Lucky Seven is a comedy about growing up, class, love, disappointment and hope.
David came into the classroom. I thought he was the milkman. The teacher asked for volunteers. I put my hand up. I wanted to be milk monitor. I didnt want this.
Working-class Alan, upper-class Catherine and middle-class Tom are part of a social litmus test, reunited every seven years to expose themselves to the nation. But waiting on the sofa for director David to arrive, they reveal far more to each other than they ever will to camera.
Alexis Zegerman is currently Pearson Writer-in-Residence at Hampstead Theatre, where Lucky Seven was commissioned. She won Soho Theatres Westminster Prize for New Writing in 2003 and also writes extensively for BBC Radio. As an actor, she can currently be seen as Zoe in Mike Leighs film Happy Go Lucky.
